I didn't choose; Teaching chose me.

Many of us step into the classroom for different reasons. For some, it's a calling. For others, it's a passion. And for a few, it was simply the best available option at the time.

But no matter how we got here, we all share one thing: the desire to make a difference. Teaching isn’t just about delivering subject content. It’s about shaping lives, inspiring dreams, and preparing students for a future beyond the classroom.

You want your students to remember you not just for what you taught them, but for how you made them feel— seen, valued, and capable of achieving greatness.

And yes, we all know that teaching doesn’t always come with the best financial rewards. But should that define the value of our work? Should that stop us from giving our best?

I say no—that would be short-sighted. Some rewards in teaching can’t be measured in cash. The impact we have on students, the lessons that stay with them for a lifetime, and the legacy we leave behind—that’s priceless.

I believe a teacher’s true legacy is in the lives they touch.

Adults who working with children, here Teachers, many are "short sighted" in terms of thinking that their learners will be children forever or that forever you (the teacher) will always be in a position of advantage over them.

Be assured that one day your learners will grow and God will place them in positions or places where you will interface with them. This is when teachers will be rewarded (or not) for the way they taught and treated their learners. These former learners, will now be your network that will open doors of opportunity for you or help in time of need.

So Teachers, do not under estimate how you treat them today and all you do to prepare them for a great future.
